As only Aadhaar-linked IRCTC accounts can book Tatkal tickets, the authorized agents will be registered for the first 30 minutes of the Tatkal ticket booking window, which will help avoid bulk ticket booking.
- For AC class, agents are registered from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM
- For Non-AC class, 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM

- Log in to the IRCTC Account through the IRCTC App/Website
- Go to Account and you will reach the profile dashboard
- In the menu option, select Authenticate User
- In the dropdown, there are two options: PAN Card and Aadhaar Card - choose Aadhaar Card/VID
- Name and DOB will be filled according to the account; if incorrect, change it in the account profile section
- Type your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID number, accept the declaration, and click Send OTP
- Type the OTP received and you’re done!
By following these steps, your IRCTC account will be linked to your Aadhaar card, and you’ll be eligible to get the benefits of an authenticated user. You are also now an IRCTC E-wallet registered user.
What Is “My Master List” in the IRCTC Account?
After completing your IRCTC Aadhaar linking, you can now add your family or relatives Aadhaar numbers to the “My Master List” of your IRCTC account so that it will save your time while booking Tatkal tickets.
Steps to Add Aadhaar-Verified Passengers to Master List
Here are the steps to follow:
- Go to Account then My Master List
- Click Add Passenger and write each passenger’s name with DOB and gender as mentioned in their Aadhaar
- Select Aadhaar ID/Virtual ID in ID Card Type option
- Enter Aadhaar number and click Add Passenger
The passenger status will show as “Pending” until verification is completed. This way, you can add your family members Aadhaar to your IRCTC account to save time. You can also give berth preference here.
Note: You can also Aadhaar-verify existing master list passengers via the “Edit” option.

- Login to your IRCTC account & select Train & Class
- Click Select the passenger from My Master List
- Choose Aadhaar-verified user
- Proceed to payment and book your Tatkal ticket
